How to Prevent Sports Injuries

There are some basic things you can to do prevent spots injuries. The first step is getting in shape for the sport you intend to play by utilizing cardio exercises and weight lifting. The sport or activity will not get you into shape by itself, and playing while out of shape may cause various injuries from pulled muscles to sprains and strains. The second step is to understand how the sport is played and the rules and to wear the appropriate protective equipment. The last preventative step that you can do on your own involves resting. This may mean training and playing your desired sport four to five days a week and resting two to three days a week. The muscles need time to recover.

We also recommend regularly seeing our chiropractor for sports injury prevention and treatment. Here at Apex Wellness Center, we can help you reduce the risk of sports injuries before, during and after your sporting season via chiropractic adjustments and wellness care.

Enhancing Physical Performance with Chiropractic Care

Numerous studies have proven that chiropractic care enhances physical performance, and receiving as little as two weeks of chiropractic adjustments can improve fine motor skills and reaction times. It also improves blood flow, which helps speed muscle recovery and increases oxygen levels throughout the body.

Chiropractic Care for Athletes

Chiropractic care is essential for athletes. When the spine and extremity joints are out of alignment, the muscles, tendons and soft tissues of the body are more prone to injury. This is because the misaligned joints place stress on the surrounding muscles, nerves and tendons, which can contribute to muscle pulls and strains. Manual adjustments can keep your spine and extremity joints in their proper alignment to help prevent sports injuries. When your body is in its proper alignment, overall pain is reduced, and the muscles, tendons and joints function properly.

Would you use chiropractic care to enhance your performance and reduce the potential for injuries?
